Yerba Santa Herb

Given the name Holy Weed by Spanish priests, Yerba Santa is a sticky leaved evergreen with medicinal purposes native to the American southwest.Yerba Santa actually has a pleasant taste and has been used to help mask the bad taste of other ingredients in cough syrups and medicines.

The Yerba Santa shrub grows to about 2 - 6 feet high and produces aromatic whitish lavender flowers that grow in tubular clusters. The entire plant lends itself to medicinal purposes including as a flavoring.
