Hi,

My pharmacist says 3 weeks is the maximum you should take this. Also, you don't have to take it so often. Maybe once a day right after a big meal. If you eat light and healthy, then you don't need the tea. Just use it for occasions where you have a slip up and break your diet, or eat very big meals. It is really too strong, and too stressful to take it so often, or on an empty or almost empty stomach. Good luck!!

Senna Tea and Colon Cancer

Be careful about using SENNA TEA. I read it can cause COLON CANCER! search google for SENNA, COLON CANCER

Laxatives in general, or any type of laxative tea, including Senna Tea are very hard on the digestive system and the colon.

You must follow directions when using any laxative product and never never use them for a continued or ongoing period of time.

Many of the things we consume daily must be used in moderation, and senna tea is no different.

Thank you for posting the warning - it is always great to be reminded about over using any herbal remedy, laxative or laxative tea.

Hi there,

Thank you for the question about senna tea. Senna tea and the senna herb are a laxative. It is not meant for continued useage over a long period or in large quantities like you have mentioned.

It is like any other laxative type product - 7 days max would be my opinion and then give it a rest.

Senna is the equivalent of taking a laxitive type product, like exlax - You wouldn't want to take that over a prolonged period of time either. Laxatives can cause harmful effects and damage.

Please consult your medical practitioner about the doseage that would be right for you. Everyone is different.
