Labor Day is tomorrow and pretty much everybody will thankfully have the day off. This also marks the time when 99% of schools are back in full force, including mine.

August 13, 2007 13:38 - Stress Affects Health - Wash It Away With Tea!

I'm sitting outside this morning. It's a gorgeous day (although a bit humid for my taste), I have a cup of darjeeling #22 next to me, and I can't help but wonder why more people don't do things like this.

Sure, people are starting to drink more tea around the world and I'm excstatic about that. But are they actually getting the true culture and essence of tea drinking? Tea is supposed to be drunk while relaxing. It's supposed to calm the nervous system down and let you unwind; or simply gather your thoughts for the day.

If you don't allow yourself time everyday to relax and unwind with a cup of tea, you're limiting yourself on your capabilities everyday. How is that you say?

Well, stress affects health in a major and negative way, and tea helps to relieve stress. Without your daily cup of tea and relaxation, the stress accumulates in your body. It then affects the way you act, think, sleep, eat, and how your entire body functions.

When you're less stressed, you perform better in any given situation. Muscle reaction time is faster, thinking is clearer, food choices are better, your attitude is improved, and so on.

So make it a point to have at least a cup of tea everyday and let yourself have 10-15 minutes of just "you" time where you can go in a quiet place to relax your body and mind.

As for me, I'm going back inside because it's starting to get uncomfortably hot out here. I think I should have made a nice cold iced tea instead of hot tea :).

Guess what everybody, I now have a new website!

I've been into fitness almost my entire life, even though I was on-and-off most of the time. I recently realized that the reason I was so on-and-off was because I was never really "into" working out. I was also doing it for the wrong reasons (to get big and look nice).

Once I changed my attitude and made my workouts more fun, I do it for a more inner-strengthening reason. I do it now for the health benefits as well as the mental benefits from it as well, and right now my workouts are amazingly fun. I love doing them.

Since I know that many, many people have the same problem, I decided to make a website about it. Of course, I used my favorite website builder - Site Build It!

It's extremely new right now, but I plan on having 25 pages on it by the end of August, so it will be building up quite quickly. Please go there and sign up for the RSS Feed on the left hand side of any page so you can get updates everytime I add something new.
