Saw Palmetto, also know as Sabal Serrulatum, is a small fan palm with a sprawling trunk that produces fruit. Saw Palmetto is very slow growing and is endemic to the coastal southern United States. The farther inland it is found the leaves of the Saw Palmetto will be greener whereas more coastally they are silvery white.

The fruit of the Saw Palmetto is rich in essential fatty acids and the juice is being studied for treatment of urinary tract infections and benign enlarged prostate conditions.
