Tea Party Sandwiches – Canned Salmon

This is a recipe for canned salmon sandwich filling, it is the one that creates the pretty pink filling for your tea party sandwiches. You can dress it up however you like and there are a few options at the end of the recipe for you to try. Canned Salmon is a more economical way to get salmon sandwiches into your tea party menu at a lesser cost than using the Smoked Salmon Tea Party Sandwich Recipe.

Salmon Tea Party Sandwich Recipe

  • 2 cans of Sockeye Salmon, drained
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • Fresh cracked black pepper

This is a simple sandwich filling recipe and can be dressed up with options at the end of the recipe. It makes a pretty rosy pink filling. Once the salmon is drained, mash it with a fork in a large mixing bowl. Note: Remove any bones or salmon skin. Add the mayonnaise & black pepper. Blend well. Instructions for Building Tea Party Sandwiches are on this page. This one is simple, just spread the filling to the very edges of the bread and roll or layer your sandwiches. Slice 1 inch thick to serve.

Options for Salmon Tea Party Sandwiches

Gherkins - To make the tea sandwiches even prettier you can add a center to the rolled sandwich with gherkins. Make sure that you dry the gherkins on a paper towel to ensure that they do not bleed into the filling and the bread. Once they are dried with a paper towel, make a neat row of gherkins along the edge of the bread you are going to roll. This way, the little pickles will be right in the middle when the roll is sliced.
