Russian Tea Ceremony

The Russian Tea Ceremony is not a formal ceremony like the Japanese Tea Ceremony.

This particular ceremony can take place amongst family and friends, social gatherings and dinner parties.

The Russian Ceremony is symbolized by the Samovar and the Samovar lends itself to a gathering of sorts.

The tea is prepared in the Samovar and Russian Tea Cakes, Cookies and Sandwiches are served to promote lingering an enjoyment of the guests.

Many great conversations are struck in the Russian Ceremony and this is the point. A social gathering of friends & family promoting conversation and interaction.

The tea is traditionally served in special glass holders which are made of metal, usually silver or bronze, and decorated with engraved pictures and enamel elements. The trays that heald the Russian Tea Cakes, Cookies and Sandwiches were usually very colorful, painted and adorned with flowers, children etc.

Many people collect these beautiful items that are an important part of any Russian Ceremony.

Today, it is common to use an Instant Russian Tea Mix to drink tea is the Russian Style! This is a modern twist, with tang being an ingredient in the instant dry tea mix.

The Tea Ceremony is often performed after a traditional dinner. Once the Samovar is set, everyone knows it is time for tea and a good coversation!
