Rue Herb

Rue Tea - Herbal Tea

Google

Rue Herb

Rue is a genus of aromatic small evergreen shrubs in the citrus family and is native to the Mediterranean region. The most widely known variety of Rue is called Common Rue and despite the bitter taste was traditionally used in Middle Eastern cuisine and ancient Roman recipes. It is still used today in northern Africa as a food.

Shakespeare called Rue the ‘herb o-grace o-Sundays’ and to date Rue is considered by many to the symbol of regret and bitter lessons. Rue has a better image in the world of herbal remedies and is noted for its fortitude, probably because it can grow in the worst soil conditions. Rue is a very strong herb and should be used with caution and care.
