Pennyroyal Tea and Pregnancy Dangers NEW
by: Elbee

Pennyroyal has been used as an herbal tea, but the essential oil in it is highly toxic. Should NOT be used by pregnant women. Even non-pregant persons should consume it (tea made from the leaves of the plant) in small or moderate amounts, as the consumption in quantity could concentrate the plant's oil in the body and it is toxic to the liver. This could be serious.

If you want the flavor of peppermint, better to use peppermint leaves for a tea or a combination of peppermint or "chocolate mint herb" or spearmint leaves. The herb plant known as "chocolate mint" is VERY nice when the leaves are used as an herbal tea--the taste and fragrance actually DOES resemble chocolate and peppermint together!
