Oregano is a perennial herb in the mint family and is most commonly used as a spice or seasoning and is often grown as a kitchen herb. Oregano grows about 2 feet tall and can spread about 18 inches so requires a larger pot to fully do well. Click here to read more about growing oregano. The leaves can then be snipped off and dried to be used in recipes, dishes or made into a nice oregano tea.
Oregano tea is prepared by steeping 1 teaspoon dried oregano or 3 tablespoons fresh crushed herb in 8 ounces of boiling water for 10 minutes.

Oregano is commonly used today to treat indigestion, bloating and flatulence.
