Mallow Herb - Herbal Tea
Mallow Herb
Mallow is a large family of flowering plants that can be found mostly in tropical regions. It is thought that over 1000 species has been found in the Mallow family and the entire plant of the species is beneficial.
Commonly when referring to Mallow people are referring to the species Marsh Mallow which grows in damp meadows, marshes and by the sea.
Mallow is used as a food source, a fiber similar to hemp and medicinally. Mallow root was once made into the confection we enjoy now and call Marshmallow. Ironically, today the confection that shares the name no longer contains the herb. Mallow derives its name from the Greek word for ‘to soften’ and refers to the ability of Mallow to sooth mucus membranes, skin and digestive system.
