Making Kombucha - What type of tea should I use?

Herbal Kombucha

Hi,

Does anyone know if it matters what type of tea I use when I make Kombucha tea?

I have tried it with black tea and also with green tea but I am wondering if anyone has tried making it with Rooibos or Herbal Teas?

I am thinking that this may not work as neither the herbal teas or the Rooibos is actual tea. The picture is of elderberry flower Kombucha and I am just wondering how to do things like this.

I am interested to know if anyone has tried this or has any comments or suggestions.

Maybe I just need to add some flavour? If I wanted to do this with herbs, like bergamont how would I do it.

Thanks for any help!

A kombucha tea lover.

ps. I really like your site, lots of information!
