Want A Great Long Island Ice Tea Recipe? Look No Further!
I realize that a long island ice tea recipe doesn't actually contain any actual tea, but I like them because they actually taste like iced tea! I've worked at a restaurant for about 6 years now and serve these drinks very often.
In the future I'll be experimenting with these and trying to actually make them with real tea, but until then you can enjoy some of these fantastic long island ice tea recipes.
As a little disclaimer, I'd just like to mention that these are very strong drinks and you need to drink responsibly. For a tea drinker who probably doesn't drink very much alcohol - one will probably suffice.
An Original Long Island Ice Tea RecipeIngredients: 1 part vodka1 part tequila1 part rum1 part gin1 part triple sec1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix1 splash Coca-Cola®Directions Mix ingredients together over ice in a collins glass. Pour into a shaker and give it a nice big shake or two. Pour back into the collins glass. There should be a nice little foam at the top. Garnish with lemon. You can also replace the sweet and sour mix with a little bit of pineapple juice, and you don't "need" to put any Coke into it - but many people choose to do so. That's what gives it the iced tea look.

You can try experimenting with these drinks using pretty much any type of fruit flavored liquor or fruit juice. For example if you love apple drinks, try using an apple liquor. I've never had that myself because I'm not a big alcohol drinker (obviously) but it sounds pretty good. Also, please note that these recipes are for one serving. If you're making more than one drink, adjust the recipes accordingly.
