Jasmine Herb

Jasmine is a large genus of flowering shrubs in the Olive family and is native to the area once known as the old world, which is made of Europe, Africa and Asian areas. Jasmine plants and vines climb and will intertwine with other plants that are growing near it. It produces fragrant flowers and depending on the species it the Jasmine plant may bloom only at night.

Jasmine is most known for its scent and is used in perfumes and incense and the flowers are popular choice in decoration and as house plants. Jasmine is often used in aromatherapy and is said to promote romantic moods and feelings of love making the essential oil of Jasmine a popular choice in massage oils.

Jasmine tea is generally sold in prepared and blended teas and is often the base of green tea. Jasmine tea can be purchased in bulk however and is prepared by steeping 2 – 3 teaspoons of herb in 8 ounces of hot, not boiling, water for 5 minutes.
