input from a juicer junkie - Banana Herb by: Wren, Site Guest
I have had difficulty getting a banana flavor to come out true using the dried banana method. They also seem to make the tea oily because they always get processed with oil.
It would be better to run bananas through a blender with tea or soy milk as the liquid. It's more of a smoothie, but it's the best way to get true banana flavor into a liquid. If you don't like the texture, add some ice-it'll help!
DO NOT try to juice a banana. It is one of the very few soft fruits that will ruin a juicer. I speak from experience. I spent over six hours taking my juicer apart and getting dry banana fluff (and goo)out of places it shouldn't have gotten.
Anyways, I hope this helps!

Is a banana a herb? ANSWER by: Teya - Admin
Yes!! You are correct - a banana is indeed a herb and not a fruit like most people think.
The banana plant is related to the orchid, and the "fruit" is a herb.
As far as banana teas, you may want to try adding a few banana chips (dried) to your next pot of tea! I would use a tea infuser to cut down on the mess from the banana as it steeps.
White tea would blend well with banana - I think you will be impressed and fruit infused teas are becoming all the rage.
You want to stick with a mild tea, so that is why I am suggesting white tea, but if you only have black or green tea, give it a try - you may just love it.
