Irish Tea Cake Recipe - Best I've Found

This a true treat and yummy with a cup of tea after a nice meal.

It is a really light and fluffy nice with fresh fruit like raspberry, or strawberry and some whip cream.

Best Irish Tea Cake Recipe

1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
1 3/4 cups of all purposr flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 confectioners sugar for dusting

Preheat over to 350 degrees F

Grease and flour 9 inch round pan

In a medium bowl cream together butter, sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs next one at a time
Stir in vanilla. Next combine flour, baking powder, and salt, stir into batter alternating with the milk
If the batter is stiff add just a little more milk.
Spread batter evenly into GREASED PAN

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes
cool in pan on wire rack then turn out onto serving plate.

Dust with powdered sugar lightly - it will look so pretty!
