Highly caffienated tea

by Dave
(Indiana)

FWIW...I'm 54 year old male.

Lipton tea bags is just about the extent of my tea knowledge. I'd like to enter the "good tea arena". I'm looking for a sweet tasting tea for a little pick-me-up in the afternoon. (I can sweeten it up with honey if I need to) I'm not looking for anti-oxidents or health benefits...just caffeine.

Is this enough information for you to recommend something?

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the question about caffeine boost from tea.

The black teas are your best bet. The lipton tea bags are not your best bet - you need to get a nice loose leaf black tea. Most tea stores carry a variety of blends of loose black tea, and do to the oxidization during processing, the blacks have the highest caffeine content.

I nice afternoon tea is a peach black tea. It is delicious and I do not find I need to sweeten it. (But you can use honey like you mentioned). There are literally 100's of black teas, and you just need to ensure that you are getting a good quality black tea, it doesn't have to be expensive, and you will get the caffeine boost that you are looking for.

Hope this helps, good luck
