Herbal teas versus plain water
Does anyone know if drinking herbal teas, without adding any milk or sugars/sweetners, is just as effective as plain water?
If you are looking to increase fluid intake, then it would be as effective, but if you are looking to hydrate your body, it would depend on the type of herbal tea you are drinking.
To give you an example, some herbs act a diuretic, pulling the water from our bodies, so you could have the opposite effect that you are looking for if hydration is your objective.
If you could be a little clearer on what you are trying to achieve and the type and ingredients of the tea you are drinking, I would be happy to post some comments for you.
