Fenugreek Side Effects

Google

This article is all about fenugreek side effects. Fenugreek leaves and fenugreek seeds are how this herb is ingested. Fenugreek is available in a variety of forms including:

Fenugreek Tea
  • Fenugreek Tea
  • Fenugreek Seeds
  • Fenugreek Capsules
  • Fenugreek Extract
  • Fenugreek Supplements
  • Fenugreek Oil

Here are some of the side effects of consuming fenugreek that you should be aware of, regardless of how you ingest fenugreek.

Side Effects of Fenugreek

  • Pregnant women should not ingest Fenugreek - Causes uterine contractions
  • Diabetic breastfeeding mothers should watch blood sugar levels as fenugreek can cause it to drop
  • Fenugreek can increase bleeding. If you have a blood disorder or blood clotting problems, do not ingest fenugreek
  • Diabetics in general should not ingest fenugreek as it can lower blood sugar levels
  • Some people are allergic to fenugreek

For the most part, fenugreek is a safe herb. Preganant moms, diabetics, and those with blood clotting disorders should not take the herb.

Other than these main side effects, generally fenugreek is a safe herb. Also interesting to note, if you are using fenugreek to increase breast milk supply, once the increased supply levels have been reached, you can stop taking the herb and your breast milk production will stay at elevated levels.

Fenugreek naturally contains the plant equivalant of the female hormone required to produce breast milk and encourage breast tissue growth.
