Dessert Tea Ideas

Welcome to our article about chocolate chai tea. This is an excellent dessert tea and lends itself well to being served with less extravagant desserts - like a pound cake or fruit dessert.

Chai tea is spicy by nature. It has a wonderful aroma and is enjoyed by tea drinkers around the world. Adding a touch of chocolate to your chai tea just takes it to a whole new level.

Serving specialty dessert teas is like have a mocha coffee or latte, this is a specialty drink, and not something for everyday tea drinking, but an excellent choice for a special occasion, tea party or other social event.

I enjoy chocolate chai tea on occassion and for me it remains an indulgent treat. I wouldn't want to upset the apple cart so to speak and drink it every day.

Chai tea is typically made with a variety of spices and herbs which include:

Making Chocolate Chai

Chai Tea Ingredients

  • cloves
  • cardammom
  • fennel
  • ginger
  • nutmeg
  • cinnamon
  • star anise
If we look at each of these herbs or herbal teas on their own, they all lend themselves to a chocolate infusion. Add a some milk and black tea, and you can see how this easily becomes a decadent dessert tea.

Making your own chocolate chai tea can be as easy as buying a pre blended chai tea that contains chocolate, Adagio Tea has a fabulous one, or simply adding chocolate shavings or chocolate chips to your tea while it is being made.

I consider this tea a luxury tea - a tantalizing treat for the senses with the smell just filling any room or setting.

There are other tea suppliers that also offer pre blended chai teas infused with chocolate, but you can get really creative if you do your own infusion.

You can use almost any type of chocolate - belgian milk chocolate is my personal favorite, but you could use a white chocolate or dark chocolate as well - creating a different flavor and experience.

You can read up on how to make chai tea here.

From that basic chai tea recipe, you can test and blend with your own chocolate to get the desired flavor and sweetness (or not if you use a high grade, high cocoa content chocolate) and really come up with a unique and special dessert tea.

Thanks for stopping by.
