Chasteberry Tea

Herbal Tea - Herbal Remedies

Google

Chasteberry Tea has been used for 1000's of years to help women who are suffering from PMS and hormonal swings (high and low).

It is also known as Vitex angus-castus (botanical name).

Uses of Chasteberry

Benefits of Chasteberry

While the name chaste berry is something out of the past, it doesn't cause a women to lose her sex drive or reduce the libido, but it will balance out the hormones in a womens body, getting rid of those nasty highs and lows that so many women suffer from.

So if you sex drive was 'low', chaste berry can increase it a bit, if those hormones are 'raging' and you are sex drive, chasteberry can bring you back into a 'normal sex drive range'.

It is somewhat of an equilizer when it comes to female hormones. It is often used in conjunction with Dong Quai.

Chasteberry Side Effects

Chasteberry as a treatment for PMS and a hormone regulator is relatively safe, however it does interact with some prescription drugs. Do not take chasteberry if you are pregnant or nursing. If you are on a prescription, check with your physician before taking chasteberry.

Chasteberry is not meant to take long term. While it can take 2-3 menstrual cycles to notice the effects of a daily dose of chasteberry, once you have regulated your cycle, stop taking the herb. You may have to try it again down the road, but the purpose is to let your body do the regulating for you.

More Benefits of Chasteberry

Other than being a female hormone regulator, chasteberry has some other benefits and is used as a herbal remedy for treating:

  • Migraine Headaches
  • Powerful Antioxidant
  • Lower Cholesterol
  • Treat Hormonal Acne
