Bonset Herb - Herbal Tea

Bonset Herb

Contrary to its name Boneset was never used to remedy broken bones as some people believe. Boneset has been used to break the fevers associated with Dengue Fever, also known as Break Bone Fever and hence the name Boneset.

Boneset, also known as Agueweed, Feverwort and Indian Sage grows in the wet marshy areas of North America and is often confused with Comfrey. Boneset traditionally is used to treat fevers associated with influenza and other illnesses.

Bonset grows to approximately 2 – 4 feet high with a hairy stem and large leaves that were once used as bandages on broken bones; this may also be an origin of the name. Boneset is a flowering plant that produces plentiful white flowers.
