Block of Black Tea

Block Of Tea Question

I received a gift of a solid block of black tea. How do I use it?

Answer
Using a tea brick is just like any other loose leaf tea.

The tea bricks or blocks are usually very compressed and sometimes aged for many many years making them really hard. (hence the name brick)

While it may not seem like there is much you can do about this, you simply pry off a piece of the brick as small as you can manage and then it will be easy to seperate.

Once it is a smaller piece of tea, you simply steep it as you would any other loose tea. (temperature and length of time depend on the type of tea brick you have)

Anything sharp will do, some use a fork as this works quite well.

Hope this helps,
Good Luck
